Typical of the watered down legislation of the Wall Street Clinton Obama administration–NOTHING BUT MORE CRUMBS
I am so fed-up with the half-measures undertaken by the Obama Administration that I could scream. The legislation that they pass is so watered down that it will not effect the sweeping reform that is required.
For example, we are supposed to cheer because Congress passed a health care bill that does NOTHING to provide real competition for Wall Street health care insurance crooks giving Americans the choice of a public option and instead mandates 50 million Americans to purchase health care insurance from the very Wall Street crooks who are currently robbing us blind? Sorry but don’t expect any thanks from this corner.
Now I read in this morning’s Huffington Post that we now are supposed to cheer because of the half-assed attempt of Congress in addressing a historic wrong on Wednesday afternoon, replacing it instead with a slightly lesser wrong, when the House voted to reduce the disparity in the sentencing of people caught with crack cocaine versus powder cocaine.
To be charged with a felony, crack users needed to possess only 5 grams of the drug. To be hit with the same charge, powder cocaine users needed to be caught with 500 grams. This 100-to-1 disparity has frequently been cited by drug war opponents as exhibit A to buttress their claim that drug laws are racist.
Pending President Obama’s signature, the new law will reduce that disparity to 18-to-1. The threshold for crack cocaine in the new law will be 28 grams; the powder level remains the same.
WE ARE SUPPOSED TO CHEER BECAUSE WHAT AMOUNTS TO RACIAL DISCRIMINATION IS NOW ONLY 18 TO 1 IN FAVOR OF WHITE PEOPLE?
Pardon me, but I see little difference between these crumbs that the corporate centrists are offering us the and entire cake that Republicans take.
Excuse me if I don’t fall all over myself in gratitude.
Surprised by the Gibb’s comment? I’m not
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Sunday that Democrats could lose control of the House in November. –HE AND THE CENTRIST DEMOCRATS IN CONTROL OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY HOPE THAT HAPPENS.
Then they can have an excuse and won’t have to work so hard to cover up the fact that they are no different from the Republicans when it comes to supporting War and Wall Street over Main Street.
HELLO PEOPLE! WAKE UP! The corporate centrist Democrats (Clinton/Obama administrations) and the Republicans have been playing a good cop/bad cop War and Wall Street game with the American people for over 20 years now–ever since the two parties teamed up, took the management of the presidential debates out of the hands of the League of Women Voters, and hijacked our democracy in the late 1980’s. That’s right the two parties actually got together and formed a corporation to control our national debates for the office of president. It’s called the “Commission on Presidential Debates.”
However, other people, like Walter Cronkite for example, called it something else. Cronkite referred to it as the greatest fraud ever perpetuated on the American public. This commission, established in the late 1980’s is the reason why we see such crap as a 30 minute discussion on national television regarding the merits of wearing a flag pin instead of a discussion of substantive issues and a real debate.

Think about it people. In 2006, we elected a Democratic Congress on the mandate to bring all US troops home by the end of 2008 and what happened instead? A Congress with Democrats in the majority continued to rubber stamp George Bush’s requests for military appropriations AND furthermore, instead of bringing troops home, they sent 100,000 more over there!
Then in 2008 we elected a Democrat for president to go with our Democratic Congress and what has happened? Well, our Congress has passed a lot of watered down legislation that offers crumbs to the American people–not near enough to begin to put our nation on the road to recovery. We have a president and an administration who have worked overtime to act like we didn’t have a the majority of Democrats that we do. Look at all the time the Obama Administration wasted on courting two Republican Senators from Maine. The Obama, corporate centrist administration, used those two women as the excuse for why we could not have a public option for health care.
What utter nonsense to allow this! The fact is that the Obama administration did not want a public option any more than the Republicans did–even though it would have been the best thing for the American people.
Why? Because the majority of Democrats in Congress, like the majority of Republicans in Congress would have personally shrunk their own stock portfolios. That’s why. Plain and simple. MOST OF THE PEOPLE WE HAVE REPRESENTING US IN CONGRESS CARE MORE ABOUT THEIR OWN PERSONAL WALL STREET PORTFOLIOS THAN THEY CARE ABOUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. AND I SPEAK OF DEMOCRATS AS WELL AS REPUBLICANS.

You bet Robert Gibbs, Axelrod, Emanuel, Clinton and Obama all hope that the Republicans take control of the House. Nothing would please them more. Then they could resume their good cop bad cop game.
YOU WANT REAL CHANGE?
REPLACE AS MANY AS YOU CAN THIS FALL WITH PROGRESSIVE INDEPENDENTS WHO WILL STAND UP FOR AMERICANS ON MAIN STREET.

ARE YOU STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY?
DO YOU THINK THAT ALL AMERICANS ARE STRUGGLING?
IF SO, YOU ARE WRONG. NOT ALL AMERICANS ARE STRUGGLING.
The upper 5% of Americans are doing just fine.
The riches of the wealthiest North Americans grew by double digits in 2009, primarily from interest their money earned when it was invested in the stock market and elsewhere, according to a report by the Boston Consulting Group.
Millionaires in the U.S. and Canada saw their wealth increase 15 percent in 2009, to a total of 4.6 trillion dollars, the report found.
Worldwide, 11 million – or less than 1 percent of all households – were millionaires in 2009. They owned about 38 percent of the world’s wealth or 111 trillion dollars, up from about 36 percent in 2008, according to Boston Consulting Group.
About 4.7 million millionaires live in the U.S., four percent of the population and more than anywhere else in the world. Japan, China, Britain and Germany followed the U.S. in the number of millionaires.
