AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR TWO OF MY BOOKS
As I’ve mentioned before, my name is “Emma Elizabeth” and I have been a free-lance writer all my life. Much of my work has involved the creation of technical and other non-fiction literature [which right there separates me from other politicians in that I don't write much fiction].
On July 1, Volume I of my latest book will be published–You can Run for Office on a Nickel and Win. Volume I chronicles my first six months running as an Independent candidate in the State of Texas for a National office–U.S. Representative for the Third Congressional District.
Following is an excerpt from the Preface:
“. . . How and where did my urge to run for office begin?
I’m not entirely sure, but at least part of my determination to run for office came from a deep sense of anger and frustration that I feel when I watch and read about our elected officials in Washington.
It is more than obvious that the majority of elected officials are in Washington for no other reason than to protect and grow their own personal Wall Street stock portfolios. I am disgusted, angry and frightened when I witness the economic deterioration of our nation, the unraveling of our infrastructure, and continuing loss of jobs against the back drop of reports of how well Wall Street bankers and brokers are doing.
I am tired of feeling helpless. I want to show the people of the United States how ordinary Americans can stand up and say Hell no! We can run for office and win—without a dime of Wall Street money to assist us and very little money of our own and I am determined to prove it, or at least take a big chunk from that evil myth that keeps ordinary Americans from participating in our government. . .”
