MY FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE STORIES FROM LAST NIGHT
FAVORITE STORY: AGAINST ALL ODDS
Alvin Greene is the Democrat who will face Jim DeMint in the fall

An unemployed military veteran who raised no funds and put up no campaign website shocked South Carolina’s Democratic Party leadership by capturing the nomination Tuesday to face Republican U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint in November.
With nearly all precincts reporting, Alvin Greene, 32, commanded 59 percent of the vote against 41 percent for former four-term state lawmaker Vic Rawl, 64, who had raised about $186,000 and had to abruptly scrap a late-week fundraiser for the fall.
State Democratic Party Chairwoman Carol Fowler said voters unfamiliar with either candidate may have voted alphabetically for Greene over Rawl.
FURTHERMORE, JIM DEMINT SHOULD TAKE A LESSON FROM THIS AS WELL. HIS $3.5 MILLION WAR CHEST MIGHT NOT BE ENOUGH. PERHAPS SOUTH CARLINA, IN SPITE OF ALL ITS OTHER PROBLEMS, MIGHT TEACH THE ELITE SNOBS IN THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION AS WELL AS A FEW ENTITLED INCUMBENT REPUBLICANS, A LESSON.

LEAST FAVORITE STORY: INDICATION THAT THE CLINTONITES WHO RUN OBAMA’S ADMINISTRATION WILL CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY INTO THE DITCH.
After Blanche Lincoln’s narrow victory over Bill Halter last night–which only God knows was garnered by what White House back room tactics run by Rahm Emanuel and Bill Clinton, cowards in the Obama administration had the unmitigated nerve to criticize and mock the efforts of labor to get Bill Halter nominated. Yes, these elite know-it-alls, the same ones who drove the Democratic party in the ditch in the mid-term elections of 1994 by dissing labor with NAFTA, are at it again.
Someone in the Democratic Party leadership who gives a damn should point out the obvious to these jackasses: 1) History has a tendency to repeat itself. They need to remember that they lost BOTH houses in 1994 because they ignored the voice of labor and 2) The Democratic party is split down the middle between Clintonite corporate centrists and progressives and yet Barack Obama, who pretended to be a progressive to get the nomination, does not have an administration that reflects this 50/50 divide in the party. Instead, he continues to shove a reconstituted version of Bill Clinton’s administration down the necks of the progressives in his party.
KEEP IT UP RAHM EMANUEL AND OTHER ELITE SNOBS IN THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION AND YOU WILL SEE THE SAME RESULTS THAT YOU GOT FROM THIS BEHAVIOR IN 1994.
Mr. President, we know that you know whose ass to kick and so do we.
We’ve never doubted for a minute that you are anything but smart. We know that you know. In fact, we know that you have known from day 1 whose ass to kick.
But the question that is begging for an answer, sir, is what the hell are you waiting for?

BACKGROUND
President Barack Obama said Monday he’s been talking closely to Gulf Coast fishermen and various experts on BP’s catastrophic oil spill not for lofty academic reasons but “so I know whose ass to kick.”
The salty words, part of Obama’s recent efforts to telegraph to Americans his engagement with the crisis, came in an interview in Michigan with NBC’s “Today” show.
In spite of what the US State Department originally claimed, it now looks like North Korea did not have the technology to sink the ship
Instead, it appears that the Cheonan was destroyed in one of the ever-growing incidents of American “Friendly”-fire accidents.
On March 26, the Cheonan was thought to have been sank by a North Korean torpedo. Now, however, it is looking more and more likely that a U.S. rising mine sank the Cheonan in a “friendly”-fire accident.

EMMA’S COMMENTS
Well I guess we can just thank our stars that the Obama administration’s plate was so full with other ongoing world and national crises–otherwise we might be deepening the channel to nuclear war with North Korea.
All this reminds me of a comment in the Pogo Comic strip years ago: “We have met the enemy and he is us.”
NOTE: Walt Kelly, creator of Pogo, first used the quote “We Have Met The Enemy and He Is Us” on a poster for Earth Day in 1970. In 1971, he did a two panel version with Pogo and Porky in a trash filled swamp. Pogo responding to Porky with “YEP, SON, WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY AND HE IS US.”
More of our elected officials in Congress should study the wisdom of Pogo as well as Pooh.
