Here’s a Pie for John Boehner’s Pie Hole and his long-distance “empathy”!

THE HILL REPORTS:   “Boehner, who has 11 siblings, said he’s not sure whether the three brothers remain unemployed.

“I’ve got real empathy for those who are unemployed, as most of you know I’ve got 11 brothers and sisters. I know that three of my brothers lost their jobs, I’m not sure whether they’ve found jobs, yet, so I’ve got a lot of empathy for those caught in this economic downturn,” Boehner said. . .”  MORE

Boehner, opposes extending unemployment benefits but he thinks that’s OK because he doesn’t think the unemployed are “lazy” as some Republicans do.

EMMA COMMENTS:  I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU BUSTER!

Is this guy for real?  He is not sure yet whether his brothers are out of work?  I’ve got an idea–why doesn’t he pick up the FRIGGING telephone and find out before he opens his pie hole?

If Boehner thinks this is an example of empathy, he needs to go back to the drawing board.  Not only is he hurting thousands of Americans with his greediness, he is also hurting his own brothers.

And what does Boehner care?  His net worth is slightly over $2 million.  He is more interested in protecting his Wall Street portfolio than the American people.

Not only does John Boehner not care, he is probably not even capable of caring.

John Boehner is also a liar.

On October 1, House Minority Leader John Boehner said in a press availability, “I’m still trying to find the first American to talk to who’s in favor of the public option, other than a member of Congress or the administration… I’ve not talked to one, and I get to a lot of places and I’ve not had anyone come up to me — I know I’m inviting it — and lobby for the public option.”

Well, some of Mr. Boehner’s constituents decided to take him up on his offer and rally outside his district office in West Chester, Ohio, delivering over 1,800 signatures of people in his district who support a public option.  MORE

The population of New Orleans at the time of Katrina was less than 0.2 per cent of the country’s population and it was also 67% black.  And our government, led by the Republican George Bush Administration was not able to take care of 0.2 percent of our population due primarily to five years of entrenched conservative ideology.

What is wrong with our nation and its leadership when we cannot easily manage a disaster such as Katrina that affected such a tiny percentage of our population—less than 0.2 per cent?

We failed as a nation. Katrina did not kill most of the 1,577 who died in the aftermath—nor did roving gangs.  Even ten days after the hurricane, corpses were still lying around.

What killed the majority of those 1,577 was neglect and callous disregard. Many died in the Superdome from starvation and dehydration. I doubt that we will ever know the exact number who died there. The “official” count of those who died in the Superdome is ten. But many claim that bodies of people who died in the dome were hauled outside so as to not be included in the final count when FEMA came around to collect the bodies from the Superdome.

Both Katrina and BP are shining examples of the self-fulfilling prophecy of a conservative ideology that dismantles and diminishes government agencies that were set up to protect the American people–an incompetent leadership that put people in charge of FEMA who had no prior disaster management experience and further reduced funding for these agencies.

This same conservative ideology instead of empowering regulatory agencies that could have prevented a BP disaster several years later instead  turned regulatory agencies into jokes and placed people at their helm who did not even support regulation of industry–the oil industry in particular.

I am someone who has been critical of many things that the Obama administration have done and have not done.

However, to suggest that the Obama administration could turn around the damage in less than two years that the conservatives have wrought on our nation for eight long years is ludicrous.

Absolutely absurd.  It will take years to undo the damage that George Bush and his conservative administration have done to our nation, its people and the infrastructure of our country.

WAR AND MURDER ARE SAM JOHNSON’S ANSWER TO EVERYTHING!

Sam Johnson is only against “big” government spending for you and me.

I just got one of Johnson’s slick mailers yesterday.  I suppose they will be coming fast and furious in the mail from now until November.  The copy is standard Republican fare that they have been dishing out for thirty years. Some things never change.  It’s amazing that some people continue to fall for their clap-trap.

Sam Johnson voted against the $787 Billion stimulus and brags about it as a reason for why ordinary Americans should vote for him–is he nuts? – We are supposed to thank Sam Johnson for voting against a bill that allocated $27 billion for highway projects to repair our aging infrastructure; $340 million for watershed and flood protection;  $150 million for economic development assistance programs; $21 billion to aid laid off workers; $19 billion to aid poor families;  a tax credit of $400 for low and middle income individuals and $800 for families.  Do you want to thank Sam Johnson for voting against that bill?  Apparently he thinks you should because this flyer with his name on it brags about it as if that is an accomplishment.

Sam Johnson voted against the Health-Care Reform Bill and brags about it. But Sam Johnson has been enjoying taxpayer sponsored health care almost his entire adult life.  It’s OK for Sam to live off government welfare–just not you and me.

Sam Johnson voted against what he calls the “$300 billion housing bailout” and brags about it. That was one of Bush’s solutions, not Obama’s.   As for the $700 billion Wall Street bailout–that also was orchestrated by Mr. Henry Paulson of the Bush Administration.   What Sam Johnson doesn’t mention on his brag sheet is that he doesn’t think that people who live on Main Street deserved to have their homes saved and he proved it by voting against H.R. 1106 “Helping Families Save their Homes Act.”  This bill authorizes bankruptcy courts to modify the terms of mortgages made on home owners’ primary residence–a practice which is barred by current laws.

Yes, while the current bankruptcy law allows rich people to restructure loans for their vacation homes and yachts, it excludes ordinary American from restructuring loans for their homesteads and Sam Johnson is just fine with this inequity.

BUT WHAT YOU WON’T HEAR SAM JOHNSON BRAGGING ABOUT OR READ IN ANY OF HIS SLICK ADVERTISEMENTS:

You won’t that Sam Johnson , over the twenty years that he has enjoyed the free ride of the taxpayers, that he has also rubber-stamped trillions of dollars worth of legislation for military appropriations for his buddies, the war contractors.- You won’t hear  him admit how much HIS votes have contributed to our national debt over the 20 years he had been in office.  You won’t hear Sam Johnson say a word about the huge war contractor bailout that continues to flow as fast as the BP spill.  $1.3 trillion for fiscal year 2010. And we never could have gotten to that level of debt without the help of Sam and other Republicans and Democratic corporate centrists as well.

As far as Johnson is concerned, ordinary Americans can starve to death as long as there is enough of our taxpayer dollars left to support the war industry and his son who was awarded a multimillion dollar contract by Collin County Commissioners to run the North Central Texas Fusion Center--a data-mining center  that spies on citizens in the region.

ISN’T IT ABOUT DAMN TIME TO STOP VOTING FOR OFFICIALS LIKE SAM JOHNSON WHO VOTE AGAINST US?

Blanche has taken millions of dollars from special interests, and it’s clear…she listens to them, not us.

Blanche Lincoln supported a backroom deal to give oil and gas companies billions at the taxpayers’ expense.

Family farms and middle class jobs are disappearing, thanks to Washington politicians like Blanche Lincoln. If you think that all Democrats are on the side of the “little” guy, you better think again. While it is true that Democrats throw larger crumbs to the little guy than the Republicans, that by no means can you say that many of the Democrats in Washington today represent ordinary Americans.

• She has voted for every bad trade deal and shipped jobs overseas
• She uses her seat to help Wall Street corporations get billions in farm subsidies  ($18.5 billion every year)
• Over the past few years in Arkansas, two thousand family farms were lost while Blanche Lincoln helped her own family rake in $715,000 in subsidies paid for by taxpayers.
• Instead of helping hard working families keep their homes in Arkansas, Blanche Lincoln voted to protect big Wall Street banks.

Blanche Lincoln is like a lot of incumbents–she has forgotten the people she is supposed to represent.  She recently accused the people who are getting Bill Halter elected as “outsiders”. If you review Lincoln’s record, it looks like SHE is the one who is the outsider.

By the way, since President Obama tells us that he knows whose ass to kick,  remind him that he needs to use his influence kick Charlie Tapps ass out for disenfranchising the voters of Arkansas.  ANY “democrat” who reduces the polling places in a county from 42 to 2 in an obvious attempt to reduce the number of votes that Bill Halter gets in any county is a crook–just like some of the ones that Obama has in his administration.

• Blanche Lincoln lives in a sprawling mansion in Virgina while her Arkansas address is a condo in a gated community.
• Blanche Lincoln doesn’t even bother to return home for that symbolic vote in her local area.  She has voted ABSENTEE  in 13 of her last 14 ballots.
• She used public funds to visit Arkansas only three times in 2008 and 2009.  Three times?  How can you represent people that you see three times in two years?  Lincoln is like a lot of incumbents.  She has forgotten who she is supposed to represent.  She thinks that it is the special interests in Washington

The Democrat, Charles Tapp is Chairman of the Arkansas Garland County Election Commission.  That county is a strong supporter of Bill Halter–the progressive Democrat who is beating the socks off incumbent corporate suck up Blanche Lincoln.

So what does Charles Tapp do?  he reduces the polling places in the country from 42 to 2.

Sounds to me like Mr. Tapp has been getting advice from the Rahm Emanuel in the back room of the White House.

I’m not sure what is happening to conservative Tom Coburn.  It may be just because it is election year, but twice already in the past few months, I have agreed with this ultra conservative Republican Senator from Oklahoma and member of The Family (a group that I consider to be a religious cult). Coburn also served as adviser to Ensign, the Senator whose family paid off their son’s mistress to the tune of $100,000.

About a month ago Tom Coburn actually said that people should not just depend on Fox news as their one source.  Instead they should get their news and information from a variety of sources and draw their own conclusions thusly.

Now I read that Senator Tom Coburn has called, informally, for an audit of the Department of Defense, arguing that without a true sense of what is being spent and where, it will be impossible to achieve significant budget savings.

“The single most important step,” however, he concluded, “is to better understand how the Pentagon spends its money.”

I could not agree more, Senator Coburn.  That would be a great starting point.

The DOD and the Pentagon in particular have been getting a free ride on the backs of the American taxpayers for years.
